A new painting. This is Bow Fell from Pike O’Blisco in the English Lake District. You can see that I’ve really enjoyed layering on thick juicy slabs of intense paint to build the textures.
I find my self painting more wide scale landscapes during the Covid 19 lockdown, probably it’s the psychology of being cramped indoors, or at least unable to visit places like this – I really yearn for time in the Cumbrian fells.
This painting is based on the sketches and photos I took in the summer of 2018, which was the last time we had an extended period of sunny weather like the one we are currently enjoying. Oh for the chance to be able to spend days like this in a place like that! Stay well, take care.
