When I sell a painting I’m often sad to see them go – I get attached to certain paintings, especially the paintings I can regard as being successful. So a few days after I dispatch a painting to its new owner, I scan my emails anxiously for confirmation that painting has arrived safely and that the collector is happy with it. This morning I got this feedback from a collector, and I’m delighted:

Hi David

I hope you’re well.

We bought two pieces of your art recently and I wanted to send you a photo of the canvas on our wall. We absolutely love it and wanted to reach out directly and say thank you. It has brought a beautiful, calming presence to our home!

We will get the other one framed when we are out of lockdown!

Thanks again,
Sarah and Iain

Even better, here are some photographs of the painting in its new location, and it looks stunning. It’s the right picture in the right place. The lighting is good, the background is perfect and the painting looks better than it did in my studio. I can’t ask for more! Here are the photos they sent me
