An imagined moonlit landscape. The moors painted here are based on memories of the pennines. I’ve added moonlight reflections onto the water in the foreground. Basically this painting is an excuse to use lots of deep lustrous ultramarine blue. I’m working on more paintings based on memory rather than directly on real landscapes and hoping that this creates paintings that are more resonant and even more mysterious.
