Whitby Under the Cliff
The rocks at the back of the main beach at Whitby form a familiar silhouette to anyone who has spent time in Whitby. I wanted to convey some of the bstle and excitement of a summer holiday, with many families playing in the sea and on the beach.
Note that this painting was originally painted on canvas and has since been mounted on board. The surface of the canvas has bubbled away from the board slightly - there's no damage to the paint but in one or two areas the canvas is no longer bonded to the board. You can't tell unless you look really closely, but I have amended the price of this painting accordingley. Email for more details.
