Not spring greens as in vegetables, but the colours that define the season. I need to find a way to paint spring trees. Thick slabs of colour won’t do it. The news leaves need thin glazes of lemon yellow and Prussian blue that drip and glow over the colours beneath.

The trunks are an inky and velvety black on their undersides, especially after rain.

In full summer the same green shade predominates but now every green is different and s lighter shade than the full summer canopy

And the bluebells have started yo add their smokey blue colour to the under growth

A wonderful scene but how to make a composition?
